Note 10 Plus Headphones Not Working

   I bought a Samsung USB-C to 3.5mm adapter to use with a pair of Samsung earphones but when I plug it into the telephone the music comes through the speakers. Whatever ideas on how to fix this?

   Are yous able to test the adapter on another device? It should also piece of work on a laptop with a USB-C port.

   Yes, I have a Samsung A7 that I plugged it into with earphones and it worked fine

   Make sure the telephone's USB port is completely clear of droppings -- use a can of compressed air to blow it out, or a computer vacuum to suck it out.

   I tried it a few minutes agone and information technology didn't modify anything. I don't know if this matters simply I accept tried other adapters and I was getting a notification on-screen proverb that what I plugged in wasn't uniform only I do non get that notification when I plug the Samsung i in - does this perhaps rule out a hardware error? I wonder if I can run a code on the phone to check the hardware.

   Yes, unfortunately - not sure what else to exercise - iv cleaned the port, reset the settings, done a principal reset etc

    Tested with Samsung, Sony & B&O earbuds.... & three branded dongles including samsung originals

    That pretty much makes information technology a problem with the firmware or hardware. The only things left would exist to reinstall the firmware or bring it to a repair shop. Deplorable!

    I am putting a summary here to help anyone who may accept the issue in the future - the issue has been resolved

    The initial problem was equally noted in the title of this mail service

    Symptoms that constituted the problem
    one. It charges as normal, 2. can connect via HDMI, 3. cannot be connected to the PC (that might just be the because I have a Win7 - not sure), four. cannot connect to earphones via a USB-c to three.5mm Jack even though they are both original Samsung accessories. five. I cannot say whether a USB-C prepare of earphones works considering I don't have any. 6. however, I doubt they would as the USB-c to iii.5mm setup works on my other Samsung telephone without any issues. vii. Yet I know the adaptor has not been rejected by the system because I likewise tried a Huwaei & other USB-C adapter and it said that it was incompatible

    In addition, I have noticed that when I employ Dex through a hub it will non allow connections other than the HDMI connection and the USB-C power in. This seems to contrast with the experience of other users who tin apply their USB 2 & 3 along with SD ports.

    My Troubleshooting efforts
    To date I take followed the 1. Samsung troubleshooting communication on this issue, 2. airbrushed the ports as advised, iii. reset all setting, 4. principal reset, 5. used multiple adapters with multiple earphones etc, 6. adjusted a diverseness of USB settings and audio settings within developer options - ...sound still played from the speakers

    How it was resolved
    I contacted Samsung repairs and to cut a long story brusque the repairman said that the port on the phone delivered a limited functionality that would not necessarily exist noticed in normal usage - he tested it and it came back as defective - they inverse the port and information technology works equally it should now - hope this helps someone
